History

Date of Birth: December 5th, 33
Home: Durrington, England, United Kingdom (Brittania)
Family: Drust and Eithni (parents), Ethna (younger sister), Domnall (younger brother); Monenna (birthname)
The Embrace: External Supernatural Trigger (an ancient British girl in a druidic family, effectively minor nobles, not far from Stonehenge, she had the misfortunate of catching the eye of one of Mithras' childer, Titus Julius Maximus Manlianus, but a rivalry with another powerful Roman vampire named Valens caused that Malkavian to snatch her away and Embrace her out of scorn), 56
Sire: Valens
The Test: Trial by Wit (in a rage, Manlianus slaughtered Valens and took her as his prize, renaming her Selene, keeping her under thumb for decades as nothing but food on tap -- for he had an appetite for "Celtic girls"; she tried to resist, but his overbearing Dominate and Presence quashed her will while also deepening her bloodline's madness: she was lost in constant and overwhelming hallucinations that also whispered of her future greatness, that she would even become a queen of the earth)
Comrades: Kale Ulric, Queen Helissent Kex ni Beaumayn
Key Event #1: Treachery (but the Great Jyhad waged even within the great clan of Mithras: a far more powerful and dangerous Ventrue, Kale Ulric, came to Brittania and personally destroyed Manlianus who apparently blocked this Norse-born's plans in the empire; he claimed Selene less as a prize and more as a transfer of burden and responsibility; Selene toyed with him at first, but soon found him unlike any Roman, and they fell for each other: she discovered he had a taste, not for "Celtic girls", but madness itself)
Key Event #2: Awe & Wonder (for a number of centuries to follow, Selene stayed near to Kale, aiding his ambitions as he requested, but wanting for nothing of the political intrigue)
Key Event #3: Awe & Wonder (indeed, so saddled with mental and emotional distraughtness, Selene spent these long years fighting a war of her own: inwards, not to conquer her madness as Kale often suggested, but to guide and channel it, to understand it and help her recognize the difference between fantasy and reality -- the better to blur the line between and help the world be more wonderful, like the often terrifying yet beautiful things she saw only in her mind's eye)
Key Event #4: Awe & Wonder (during these Dark Ages, helping herself actually in turn helped Kale help himself, and as a consequence kept both of them more solid, feet planted on the ground--almost sane, some might have said)
Key Event #5: War (Selene only ever fought in self-defense, against the occasional assassin who primarily targeted the old Ventrue, or a pack of Anarchs bent on diablerie; she dealt with such enemies at least once every few decades, and it eventually became a routine amusement to break up the monotony of mere existence)
Key Event #6: Personal Tragedy (but she was not built for such conflict, and eventually nearly perished in combat against a talented Assamite killer bent on slaying Kale; she took the brunt of his venom and slipped into a coma-like state, while Kale destroyed the assassin; out of love for Kale, she Demented his long memories of their time together, blurring it into a figment of imagination in his memory so that he might forget her while and if she ever recovered; she then entered a deep torpor)
Key Event #7: Awe & Wonder (for over two hundred years, she slept in a dream-packed state, but eventually was awakened from it by a faerie queen, Helissent Kex, who revealed that Selene had long ago been faerie-blooded herself before the Embrace, and the Glamour lingered still--the hallucinations were actually "chimera"; Helissent, radiant and goddess-like, compelled Selene to return to Kale, that it was in her best interest that Kale never forget the madness of reality that Selene always reminded him of; Helissent did this because the world was about to be "shattered" and the fae would vanish entirely under the iron boot of the crusader and bible of the Inquisitor, and Selene would help keep that nihilism at bay and keep Kale from becoming too myopically banal)
Key Event #8: Awe & Wonder (Selene returned to Kale; her return helped spur his broken memories, but the Dementation could not be simply undone, he simply remembered enough to accept her and they could rebuild their relationship anew)
Key Event #9: Awe & Wonder (together again, Selene and Kale held the world in the palms of their hands; while he "worked", she wandered and explored the modernizing world, reveling especially in the Renaissance of art and aesthetics)
Key Event #10: Personal Tragedy (Kale eventually traveled to the New World to seek his fortunes for world conquest there, and she accompanied him, certain of her future role as his queen, as the world's queen)
Transition: Shift in Purpose (wherever Kale's Jyhad led, she followed in turn, feeling the tremors of that faerie queen's promises of doom hastening towards fruition, and she knew only that she had to be on the vanguard next to the conquering lord, helping him win and helping him keep his eyes open wide)

Significant Other

Name: Kale Ulric, 177
Nature: Romantic

Kale

Weakness
Queen Nothing

Selene believes she will be queen of the world. She knows she's already worthy of it simply by birthright, by virtue of being her (and Kale is simply the vehicle towards her destiny). Well, she's wrong. How wrong is yet to be seen, since after all, she's not just some crazy lady. She's a crazy lady with near 2,000 years of vampire powers to back up her claims.

Likelihood of Corruption

Very high.

Well, very high in the sense of becoming crazier. Were some Infernalist to come along and offer power, Selene would thank him for the tasty snack after making him cut his own heart out of his chest and offering it to her on a silver platter before dropping dead at her feet.
